Paramount has set the official The Gold Paramount+ release date, as the British crime series starring Dominic Cooper (Preacher) will debut across international markets next month.
What is The Gold’s Paramount+ release date?
Per Collider, The Gold is set to debut on Paramount+ on September 14, while the Korean thriller Bargain debuts on October 5. Los Enviados Season 2, Queen Woo, A Bloody Lucky Day, and the British series Sexy Beast are all international productions that are expected to arrive on Paramount+.
“On the 26 November 1983, six armed men broke into the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow Airport, and inadvertently stumbled across gold bullion worth £26m,” says the synopsis. “What started as ‘a typical Old Kent Road armed robbery’ according to detectives at the time, became a seminal event in British criminal history, remarkable not only for the scale of the theft, at the time the biggest in world history, but for its wider legacy.
“Inspired by extensive research and interviews with some of those involved in the events, The Gold is a pulsating dramatization which takes a journey into a 1980s world awash with cheap money and loosened morals to tell this extraordinary and epic story for the first time in its entirety.”
Along with Cooper, the cast includes Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Charlotte Spencer (The Duke), Tom Cullen (Black Mirror), Emun Elliott (Guilt, Old), Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible), Ellora Torchia (Midsommar), and Stefanie Martini (The Last Kingdom).
Co-produced by Tannadice Pictures, an Objective Fiction partner, and Paramount Television International Studios, The Gold “provides a pulsating dramatization of this extraordinary and epic story for the first time in its entirety.” The series is directed by Oscar winner Aneil Karia and Lawrence Gough and is written by Neil Forsyth.
