Hulu has announced release date for its upcoming series adaptation of Zakiya Dalila Harris’ best-selling novel The Other Black Girl, which will be led by Sinclair Daniel (Insidious: The Red Door) and Ashleigh Murray (Riverdale). The mystery comedy will be available for streaming on September 13 with ten episodes.
What is The Other Black Girl about?
The Other Black Girl centers around Daniel’s character Nella who becomes suspicious of her new co-worker. “Nella, an editorial assistant, is tired of being the only Black girl at her company, so she’s excited when Hazel is hired,” reads the synopsis. “But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company.
The series is executive produced by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey, who are also serving as showrunners. Joining Daniel and Murray are Brittany Adebumola, Hunter Parrish, Bellamy Young, Eric McCormack, and Garcelle Beauvais. Additional executive producers are Harris, Rashida Jones, Adam Fishbach, Tara Duncan, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.
