The chances of Platonic Season 2 were addressed by actor Luke Macfarlane, who plays Charlie on the Apple TV Plus show. In a recent interview with TheWrap, conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Macfarlane gave an update on the comedy’s future. ”There have definitely been discussions,” he said about a possible Season 2 renewal. “I don’t know all the details, but we’re hoping we can make it work.”
The Bros star also shared some of what he’d like to see if Platonic Season 2 does happen: “I’d like to see Charlie spend a little bit more time with Will (Seth Rogen) to try to understand him a little bit better.” Macfarlane also mentioned wanting to see more of the friendship between Sylvia (Rose Byrne) and Katie (Carla Gallo).
Who Else Is In Platonic?
“A platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) reconnect after a long rift,” according to the official synopsis. “The duo’s friendship becomes more consuming – and destabilizes their relationship in a hilarious way.”
In addition to Rogen, Byrne, Gallo, and Macfarlane, the cast also includes Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, Alisha Wainwright, Guy Branum, Janet Varney, Emily Kimball, and Vinny Thomas.
Co-created, directed, and co-written by Nick Stoller (who previously directed Rogen and Byrne in the Neighbors movies), and Francesca Delbanco, Platonic is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Byrne, Rogen, Stoller, Delbanco and Conor Welch executive produce.
