HBO has officially granted a straight-to-series order to an untitled Brad Ingelsby task force project, which hails from Mare of Easttown creator-writer. Following his Emmy-winning leading performance in I Know This Much Is True, Mark Ruffalo is reuniting with the premium network to star in the untitled limited drama, in which he’ll be portraying a character named Tom. HBO notes that Ruffalo’s casting was done before the Writers Guild of America issued its first writers strike in fifteen years.

What to Expect in the Brad Ingelsby Project?
The miniseries will be written and executive produced by Ingelsby, who earned an Emmy nomination for his work on Mare of Easttown for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series. Based on an original idea, the story follows a task force of law enforcement officers and the criminals they are trying to apprehend.
Executive producers are Ruffalo, Paul Lee, Mark Roybal, Nicole Jordan-Webber, Jeremy Yaches, and Jeremiah Zagar, with the latter also serving as the director. It is a production by wiip and HBO. Due to the ongoing WGA strike, the network has not yet scheduled the project’s production start date.
Besides the untitled project, Ruffalo will also next be seen in Netflix’s limited drama series adaptation of All the Light We Cannot See, which is slated to be released sometime this year. The Marvel star is also currently attached to two high-profile movies, including Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things and Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17.
