Even though Lucasfilm has not yet formally announced The Mandalorian Season 4 renewal, executive producer Jon Favreau previously confirmed that all scripts for the next installment have already been completed. The outlet’s sources note that the studio was originally planning to begin filming in September.
Currently, this isn’t the only Pedro Pascal-led series that has been impacted by the writers’ strike. It has been recently revealed that the pre-production process of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 has also been impacted by the writers’ strike.

The Star Wars series is created and executive produced by Jon Favreau. Joining Pascal’s lone Mandalorian gunfighter Din Djarin in Season 3 are Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and more. The latest installment also featured appearances from Ahmed Best, Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd.
“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu,” says the synopsis for Season 3. “Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”
Season 3’s directorial lineup included returning filmmakers Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, and Bryce Dallas Howard, along with Star Wars newcomers Lee Isaac Chung (Minari), Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), and Black Panther cinematographer Rachel Morrison.
The Mandalorian hails from executive producers Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck. Favreau is also set as the showrunner and one of its directors. Seasons 1-3 are now available for streaming on Disney+.
