Netflix‘s recently released series, Unstable, stars the father and son duo of Rob and John Owen Lowe. Both actors recently spoke with ComingSoon and revealed that acting together has also benefitted their relationship with one another.
“I think that it has actually helped our personal relationship in many ways because we have something that we both care about to connect over in this show,” John Owen stated. “It has forced us to have a certain level of patience and understanding with each other that has been, honestly, really nice.”
Rob Lowe mentioned that John Owen is quite smart and that working with his son is “really, really weird” in “the most wonderful, wonderful way possible.”
“I’ll be working with him in a scene and I’ll be like, ‘Oh, that was mean. I wonder if he really means that. Oh, no, no, no. That’s the dialogue, that’s right. It’s just the dialogue,'” Rob explained. “Or we’ll finish a scene and then we’ll congregate with the director and talk about how we thought the take went and he’ll give his opinion and I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, that guy’s really smart. He’s so — wait a minute. That’s my … that’s John Owen! I changed his diapers! Now he’s telling me he wants another take?’ So it’s really, really weird, but in the most wonderful, wonderful way possible.”
Unstable is created and executive produced by Rob Lowe, John Owen Lowe, and Victor Fresco, with Marc Buckland also set as an executive producer. It is now streaming on Netflix.
