Based on a 1986 graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, Watchmen on HBO Max is a superhero drama set in 2019. The series follows the aftermath of a white supremacist attack on the Tulsa police department, in which only two officers survive, Detective Angela Abar (Regina King) and Chief Judd Crawford. When the police force is rebuilt, laws dictate they protect their identities by wearing masks and tackle racism as best they can.
