Harley Quinn Special: Abbott Elementary Stars to Voice Hawkman & Hawkgirl

Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams have signed on for guest-starring voice roles in HBO Max’s upcoming Harley Quinn special, Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special. The episode will be available for streaming on February 9.

According to Deadline, Williams will be voicing DC hero Hawkman while Brunson will lend her voice to Hawkgirl. Their casting comes after the duo recently won Golden Globe awards for their individual performances on the popular ABC sitcom.

“As a Harley Quinn fan, I’m thrilled to lend my voice to the special and to team up with my Abbott Elementary creative partners, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and co-star Tyler James Williams for this fun episode,” Brunson said in a statement.

Williams added, “Harley Quinn is such a brilliant series and it is an honor to lend my voice to this special. I think the cameo is something both Abbott Elementary and DC fans will enjoy.”

In addition to Williams and Brunson, the special will also feature the voices of Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson, Michael Ironside, and more.

“As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry,” reads the special’s synopsis. “Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.”

Harley Quinn Season 4 will feature a new showrunner and executive producer in the form of Sarah Peters (Master of None), who will be taking over from Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.

Based on the DC character created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, Harley Quinn is created and executive produced by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. In addition to starring, Cuoco is also an executive producer through her Yes, Norman Productions.
