Kit Harington has played coy about a potential Game of Thrones spin-off series about Jon Snow, and that continued during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Speaking to the late-night show host, Harington joked about the possibility of a Jon Snow series, first asking Jimmy if he wanted it before teasing that if people continue to not recognize him, he might have to return.
“I don’t know,” said Harington. “Do you want to have it? I can’t say anything on that, but…I don’t know, man … I walk down the street and I get recognized a little less nowadays, and it kind of hurts my ego, you know? I’m pretty close to like putting on some furs.”
Harington joked, “I got a tally in my head of how few photos I get asked for in a day, and when it gets below a certain number, I think I’ll do a spin-off.”
Despite Harington’s playfulness about returning to the character, it does seem like a show starring Jon Snow is in the works. Last year, author George R.R. Martin confirmed that one would be happening, and also noted that it was Harington himself who pitched the idea.
“Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought the idea to us. I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet … but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific,” said Martin at the time, before revealing that he was involved in the creative aspect of the series, noting that he had been working with the team assembled by Kit Harington as well as his own team, and that the Jon Snow series, as well as many other Game of Thrones projects, are all still in the very early scripting stages.
