Netflix has already announced that a second season of the hit series Wednesday would be coming. However, star Jenna Ortega hasn’t seen much of what’s planned just yet.
Speaking to Variety, Ortega was asked if she’d seen anything from the upcoming season. According to Ortega, she hasn’t, noting that she believes the writers’ room is just getting together now.
“I have seen nothing, and I know nothing,” said Ortega. “I feel like sometimes as the actor, you just are kind of told what to do. I’m waiting on it, I think they’re just starting to get a writers’ room together, so…maybe soon.”
After becoming a smash hit for the streamer, Netflix announced that the series would be coming back for a second season last week. The Jenna Ortega-led hit became Netflix’s second most popular English-language series with 1.237 billion hours viewed within its first 28 days.
“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world,” showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said in a statement announcing Season 2 of the series. “Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
