What Are the Critics Saying About The One That Got Away?
The One That Got Away does not yet have an official critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series, however, has a user score of 5.2/10 on IMDB. While the twist is interesting enough, most viewers think the rekindling of missed connections feels forced.
Decider’s Joel Keller says, “While we think The One That Got Away has some structural issues that may take the show far away from its original idea, they have a great crap-stirrer in Allyssa, and just the idea that these matches have somewhat of a past makes things at least a little more interesting.”
Melissa Camacho from Common Sense Media writes, “It all feels contrived, but viewers who like these sorts of unscripted dating theatrics will find The One That Got Away to be a guilty pleasure.”
