The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale saw a ton of fourth wall breaking and special appearance, but original plans for the finale also included a major return.

In a recent interview with The Direct, She-Hulk director Kat Coiro revealed that the folks at Marvel had actually considered bringing back Edward Norton, who originally appeared as The Incredible Hulk in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, back for the finale, as a bit of a nod to the MCU of old.
Specifically, Coiro was asked if there were any other ideas for the brief scene between Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Abomination. The two characters clashed for a few seconds in the She-Hulk finale before She-Hulk broke the fourth wall and had Hulk removed from the scene. According to Coiro, the team behind the series initially toys with the idea of having Edward Norton involved, but it didn’t end up happening.
“There was a lot of talk about the fact that the last time they were together a different actor was playing the Hulk,” said Coiro. “And Mark [Ruffalo] made quite a few jokes about that. And we did entertain the idea of swapping Mark out for Edward Norton. But that did not come to pass.”

While it’s unknown if Norton will ever return to the role of Hulk, it does seem like those at Marvel Studios are willing to bring back anyone for a cameo. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be too shocking to see Norton return in some capacity, although fans will have to keep waiting.
