According to Deadline, The Perks of Being a Wallflower star Logan Lerman has officially signed on for a leading role opposite Joey King in Hulu’s upcoming limited drama titled We Were the Lucky Ones. This marks Lerman and King’s latest collaboration after previously starring together in the action thriller film Bullet Train.

We Were the Lucky Ones is a World War II drama based on Georgia Hunter’s bestselling 2017 novel. It revolves around the Kurcs, a Jewish family who get separated at the beginning of the war. Lerman is set to portray the role of a 25-year-old Polish-Jewish man named Addy, who is based on Hunter’s grandfather.
Addy is the Kurc family’s middle child, who is described as an “adventurer who lives in Paris as an engineer and is enjoying budding success as a music composer. He has an ability to find common ground with dissimilar people and a talent to fix anything.”

The miniseries is written and executive produced by Erica Lipez, who is also set as the showrunner. Executive producers are Hunter, Jennifer Todd, Adam Milch, and Thomas Kail, who will also be directing. It is a production by 20th Television.
