Following the second season finale of Only Murders in the Building, it has been confirmed that Avengers: Endgame star Paul Rudd has officially signed on to join the cast in the forthcoming third season of the popular mystery comedy. This casting news comes after Rudd made a surprise cameo during the season two finale, where he portrayed the role of Broadway star Ben Glenroy.

“Paul Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of season two as Ben Glenroy, is someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming season three — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!” series co-creator John Hoffman said in a statement (via Variety).
Only Murders in the Building centers around three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. The series stars Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Nathan Lane, Aaron Dominguez, and Amy Ryan. Joining them in season two are Cara Delevinge, Michael Rapaport, Amy Schumer, and Shirley MacLaine.
“In season two, following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver & Mabel race to unmask her killer,” reads the synopsis. “However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue — the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.”

Only Murders in the Building hails from co-writers and co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie). Its executive producers are Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
