The series is now set to debut on Disney+ in 2024, a ways off from its announcement in 2021. In the same panel, some of the villains that will appear in Freshman Year were announced. These include Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Scorpion, Speed Demon, and Tarantula. See the tweet below for a preview of what they will look like:

Additionally, attendees got to see some of the supporting characters that will be featured in the series, including Harry Osborn, Nico Minoru, Lonnie Lincoln, Amadeus Cho, and more. Reportedly, the series will take place prior to Captain America: Civil War, though the presence of Doctor Octopus and Harry Osborn seemingly complicates the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Finally, a new Spider-Man suit was also previewed at the event. As you can see in the tweet below, Peter uses a different homemade suit from his Homecoming one in Freshman Year. This suit is composed of athletic equipment and a jersey, compared to Homecoming‘s hoodie-based look.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year will be written and executive produced by Jeff Trammel. It follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man, with a journey unlike any we’ve seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.
