Now that Moon Knight has wrapped its first season on Disney+, Marvel has released a detailed look into Marc Spector’s significant other Layla El-Faouly and her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Layla is an MCU original creation, although she’s heavily based on the comic character Marlene Alraune. She’s a capable adventurer who pairs well with Marc and his various other personalities, and the backstory concerning her archaeologist father is also basically taken from the original source material.
Moon Knight itself is the most self-contained MCU project to date, featuring no ties to other Disney+ shows or Marvel films. Although that wasn’t originally by design, as it had a couple cameos planned that were then cut.

The links are somewhat there, as one of the episodes of Moon Knight had a direct reference to Werewolf by Night.
