Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke has opened up about the possibility of returning for a potential second season of Moon Knight. Even though the upcoming Disney+ series was developed as a standalone story, he teased that it could definitely go beyond its six episodes depending on the viewers’ reception of the story.
“The good news is that it’s possibly both,” Hawke told IGN of the series, which debuts on March 30. “It lives and breathes on its own merits, it functions as a limited series, and if people are engaged and excited by it then it could be the origin story of a larger thing.”

Moon Knight will see Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac taking on the titular role of Marc Spector, which marks the iconic superhero’s live-action debut. It will also feature the introductions of MCU newcomers Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu, May Calamawy, and the late Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man.
“It follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life,” says the official synopsis. “Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
