The news confirms what some reports had said earlier this year and gives fans a more clear idea of what Marvel’s Disney+ release windows look like. With Moon Knight set to premiere on March 30 and Ms. Marvel to arrive after that sometime in the summer, which leaves most of the holiday season open for She-Hulk, as Marvel Studios doesn’t have too much planned besides the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
“The series introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City,” reads the official synopsis. “An aspiring artist, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers—and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.”
Joining Khan are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. Ms. Marvel is directed by executive producers Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with executive producer Bisha K. Ali serving as head writer.
Following the series, Vellani’s teen hero will next be seen in Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel titled The Marvels starring opposite Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, which is currently set for a February 17, 2023 release.
