The Proud Family Guest Star Photos Feature Lizzo, Jaden Smith & More

Disney+ has released brand new photos for the upcoming animated sitcom The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, revealing our first look at some of the guest-stars’ characters. The revival is slated to premiere on February 23, with the first two episodes.

The photos, which you can check out below, introduced us to the six new characters who will be voiced by guest-stars Lizzo, Jaden Smith, Lena Waithe, Al Roker, Lamorne Morris, and long-time Disney star Brenda Song.

Their character descriptions are listed below:

Lizzo as herself – the first singer Oscar hires to perform at his new theme park, SnackLand.
Smith as College Myron – the college version of Myron Lewinski.
Waithe as College Maya – the college version of Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins.
Roker as himself – will be a wish-granting genie.
Morris as himself – will be a headliner in a musical.
Song’s Vanessa Vue – is a local TV news reporter who covers Oscar’s most embarrassing escapades.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will pick up the story of its central character Penny Proud and also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff). And it would not be “The Proud Family” without Penny’s crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.

The Disney+ series will feature the return of the original voice cast led by Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby. It will also include Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez.

The revival will also feature the voices of Keke Palmer, Zachary Quinto, Billy Porter, and EJ Johnson. Palmer, Quinto, and Porter will portray the role of the Leibowitz-Jenkins family. It also features the return of Raquel Lee Bolleau and Marcus T. Paulk, who are reprising their respective roles of Nubia Gross, and Penny’s classmate Myron.

The star-studded lineup includes music superstars Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Chance the Rapper, Normani, and Jaden Smith along with actors Tiffany Haddish, Leslie Odom Jr. Lena Waithe, Anthony Anderson, Gabrielle Union, and more.
