King of the Hill creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge have formed a new animation company, Bandera Entertainment, with multiple animated series in various stages of development including a revival of the popular Fox show (via The Hollywood Reporter).

In addition to the return of King of the Hill, which Daniels and Judge are currently not sharing official details on, Bandera’s Bad Crimes has been ordered at Netflix. The 10-episode series stars Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus and is described as an “adult animation dark comedy procedural.” From creator Nicole Silverberg (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee), the series revolves around Kara (Byer) and Jennie (Lapkus) as FBI agents who travel across the country to solve grisly crimes while juggling their friendship, career aspirations and as many men as possible.” Judge and Daniels executive produce along with creator Silverberg, Erica Hayes (Rick and Morty, Big Mouth, Solar Opposites), Byer, and Lapkus.
“We were very excited to go into different tones and different styles and try to expand the animation art form,” Daniels said. “We’re in a golden age for content, right? That’s animation, too. That was one of the things we were talking about in founding the company: ‘Let’s push animation into all these different genres.’”

Other comedians and artists Bandera is collaborating with on various projects include Sacha Baron Cohen’s “very funny children’s show,” Zach Woods, Jimmy O. Yang, Mr. Cartoon, Alison Bechdel’s Dykes to Watch Out For with Carrie Brownstein, and many others, including a show described as “if Breaking Bad was a half-hour comedy.”
