The news comes from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp with WWE confirming each of the releases. Regal, who retired from wrestling matches in 2013, had been the on-creen NXT General Manager figurehead since 2014. He also had a backstage role recruiting talent as he was the WWE Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting.
Meanwhile, Road Dogg, who was one half of The New Age Outlaws, had been a prominent writer and producer since 2014. Road Dogg was the head writer of WWE SmackDown for a year and then began teaching classes at the WWE Performance Center where he taught classes on cutting promos and developing characters.
