Vincent D’Onofrio recently reprised his role as Kingpin in Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series on Disney+. However, while the future is uncertain for the character, D’Onofrio would love to see the crime boss make his way back into the MCU in another upcoming series.

For those unaware, Kingpin meets what seems to be a violent end at the hands of Maya, a character that has a long history with Kingpin both in the show and in the Marvel comics. Speaking to Collider about the finale, D’Onofrio said that he can’t comment on what happened to Kingpin, but would once again love to come back if given the chance.
“I can comment personally,” D’Onofrio said. “I can’t comment about any fact because they just don’t tell me. So, it made me hope that it would continue and it still makes me feel that way. I mean in my mind, she definitely shot him. And, I walked away from Daredevil, at first I thought, ‘Maybe he’ll come back somehow.’ And then very quickly after that, I thought I was walking away for good. So I had always hoped because of the fans wanting him back and everybody, I’d hope that I would come back. So I feel the same way now.”
When asked about the possibility of returning in Disney’s upcoming Echo series that is set to land on Disney+, D’Onofrio said that it would be “great” to return, referencing a comic book run that focuses heavily on Echo’s relationship with Wilson Fisk. “I remember the comic run. It was one of my favorites, the father-daughter relationship between Maya and him, and I would love the opportunity to do that.”

While it remains to be seen if Kingpin really died during the season finale of Hawkeye, it’s highly unlikely that the folks at Marvel Studios would bring him back just to kill the character so abruptly. It’s not yet confirmed that he’ll be returning, but the odds of D’Onofrio getting to return as Fisk seem pretty high as of now.
