According to Variety, The Hate U Give star Amandla Stenberg has entered negotiations to star in Lucasfilm’s newest Star Wars series for Disney+ The Acolyte, which hails from Emmy nominee Leslye Headland. The 23-year-old actress is no stranger to the sci-fi genre as she previously starred in two dystopian films, 2012’s The Hunger Games and 2018’s The Darkest Minds.
Stenberg’s casting comes following the recent addition of Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ivanna Sakhno, who have both been cast to star opposite Rosario Dawson in another live-action Star Wars series, Ahsoka.
