The highly anticipated fourth season of Netflix’s Cobra Kai series got some new artwork today, while last week, series creator Jon Hurwitz gave an update on the fifth season of the show.

Taking to social media, the official Cobra Kai Twitter account released two new posters, one of which is a more traditional advertisement for the series, while the other acts as a poster for the 51st Annual All Valley Karate Championship. The second poster teases various events happening through December, all culminating in the “tournament” beginning on December 31, the same day the season premieres.

Alongside the news, Jon Hurwitz — creator, writer, and director of the series — took to Twitter last week to update fans on the status of the future of the show. While answering a question about Sam and Miguel’s relationship, Hurwitz revealed that the team was already in the process of filming the “final episodes” of the fifth season.
It’s disorienting for me to even try answering this because we’re currently filming the final episodes of Season 5. Thankfully whatever I’d say would be a spoiler, so I’ll need to refrain. #CobraKai https://t.co/pT0bEye9zF

Season 4 of Cobra Kai will most likely deal with the aftermath of the third season’s action-packed finale, where fans last saw Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso finally teaming up with each other in order to take down John Kreese at the All Valley Karate Tournament. However, as they formed their new alliance, it looks like Kreese has also enlisted his old friend to help him defeat Johnny and Daniel. The new season will also introduce new characters in the form of Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny and Oona O’Brien as Devon.
In Cobra Kai, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka revisit their star-making roles from the iconic film franchise, The Karate Kid. The epic adversaries return to the dojo, thirty years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. A down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now-successful Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi.

Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Heald, Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg via their Counterbalance Entertainment banner.
