Arcane Season 1 4K Home Release Coming This Year From GKIDS

Arcane Season 2 Renewal Announced for Netflix’s League of Legends Series

Netflix officially announced the second season renewal of Riot Games’ animated series adaptation of Arcane, which is based on the popular League of Legends video game. The announcement comes after over two weeks since the debut of the Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell-led action drama, consisting of nine episodes that were spread out through three parts. Last Saturday, the final three episodes for Act III were released and are now available for streaming.

In addition, the streamer has also revealed that Arcane Season 2 is now currently in production, with Steinfeld, Purnell, and Katie Leung confirmed to reprise their respective voice roles as Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn. However, the new installment has no target release date attached to it yet.

Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, Arcane follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.

“We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee said in a statement.

Season 1 also featured the voices of Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer) as Jayce, Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as Silco, Toks Olagundoye (Castlevania) as Mel, JB Blanc (Dota: Dragon’s Blood) as Vander, and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) as Viktor.

Arcane is part of Netflix’s growing list of upcoming animated series based on video games such as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Splinter Cell, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a Castlevania spinoff series, and more.
