The WWE roster continues to shrink as WWE released eight WWE Superstars today. This wave of WWE releases comes after the company released 18 wrestlers earlier this month, which included notable names such as Nia Jax, Ember Moon, Keith Lee, and Karrion Kross.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was the first to report the eight new WWE releases. The biggest name on the list is John Morrison, who was a three-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, and a six-time tag team champion. He famously tagged with The Miz and feuded with Bad Bunny earlier this year. Morrison’s wife, Taya Valkyrie, was also released from the promotion earlier this year.

The reason for the releases is said to be budget cuts. It’s sadly just one of a string of sizable WWE releases that the company has done lately. Even former champions and recent main eventers aren’t safe as both Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt were cut from the roster. We’ll be sure to update the post if any other wrestlers are released.
