The series, titled Lopez vs. Lopez, is described as a “working-class family comedy” and will center on the dysfunction, reconnection, and all the pain and joy of being in a family, presumably. The series will come from The Conners duo Bruce Helford and Debby Wolfe and will be written by Wolfe with Helford supervising.
This isn’t the first time that Lopez and Helford are partnering together, as Helford also was a co-creator of the George Lopez sitcom that ran for six seasons on ABC. Wolfe and Helford will serve as executive producers for the series alongside Lopez. According to the report, the series originated when Wolfe came up with the idea and worked on it with George and his daughter Mayan.

For Lopez, this marks yet another television project for the iconic comedian. After starring in his own show from 2002-07, Lopez also hosted a talk show, Lopez Tonight, that ran from 2009-11. Since then, he’s continued to work in both film and television, with tons of credits to his name, the most recent being a brief appearance on the sitcom The Neighborhood.
