The original voice cast of the Cowboy Bebop anime will be returning to reprise their roles for Netflix’s adaptation. These returning actors will be for the Japanese dub of the film.

The official Cowboy Bebop Twitter account announced this move that will see the original voice cast join the new series as part of the Japanese dub. The entire main cast will be returning sans Jet’s voice actor, Unshō Ishizuka, who passed away in 2018, as well as a few recurring characters who appeared throughout the series as well. The full cast of returning actors includes:
- Kōichi Yamadera as Spike
- Taiten Kusunoki as Jet
- Megumi Hayashibara as Faye
- Norio Wakamoto as Vicious
- Gara Takashima as Julia
- Tsutomu Taruki and Miki Nagasawa as Punch and Judy
- Takaya Hashi as Teddy Bomber
- Kenyu Horiuchi as Gren
- Masako Isobe as Mao
- Romi Park and Hikaru Midorikawa as Shin and Lin

Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series is being created by Andre Mac and Jeff Pinkner from a script written by Christopher Yost (Thor: Ragnarok) and Javier Grillo-Marxuach. It will star John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell as Vicious, and Elena Satine as Julia.

Cowboy Bebop is a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, with Michael Katleman and Alex Garcia Lopez directing all 10 episodes which wrapped its production in New Zealand last May. The live-action series will also include original anime composer Yoko Kanno, who is returning to create the soundtrack.
The original anime ran for just 26 episodes and one special in the late 1990s and later had a feature film, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, released in 2001 and set during the series instead of serving as a follow-up.
