The producers and writers behind the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso are getting some big bumps in pay increases, according to a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the report, the stars of the series, ranging from Jason Sudeikis all the way to the players on AFC Richmond (the soccer team the series features) have engaged in recent contract renegotiations with Warner Bros. Television, that will see all of them get some “sizable” pay increases.

The report also notes that showrunner Bill Lawrence is also seeking an increase from the five-year, eight-figure overall deal he initially signed in 2018, although it’s unclear what his final renegotiation will look like. It was also noted that the writers on Ted Lasso also received “significant” salary bumps, with separate deals for actors Brendan Hunt and Brett Goldstein — who portray Coach Beard and Roy Kent, respectively — who have also written multiple episodes of the show as well as serve as executive producers.

Sudeikis, according to the report, will now earn somewhere “in the vicinity” of $1 million per episode beginning with Ted Lasso’s third season, with the full amount also including creator fees as well as compensation for his role as a head writer and executive producer on the show. This is a huge bump up from his reported salary of $250,000-$300,000 per episode for the first two seasons.

With Ted Lasso already earning rave reviews for its second season and notching 20 Emmy nominations for the upcoming awards show, it comes as no surprise that the people behind the series are being well taken care of by Apple and Warner Bros. With the series already having been granted a third season renewal by Apple, the renegotiation of contracts should keep production on track to begin early next year.
