As far as Star Wars lost media goes, Star Wars Detours sticks out as an interesting project. It’s much more recent as it was announced in 2012 and 39 episodes were completed. However, Lucasfilm got cold feet on the comedy CGI series and never aired it. It was set to feature the voice talents of Seth Green, Joel McHale, Seth MacFarlane, Felicia Day, Zachary Levi, Donald Faison, and many others.
“To this day, to the life of me, I cannot tell you why it hasn’t aired,” McHale told ComingSoon. “I don’t know why. I really don’t. Seth Green headed up that whole thing. He’s one of my favorite people on the planet. He’s one of the most talented people, and I thought it was well written too. It could be a whole other dimension to Star Wars and to this day, it should air. It should get out there. I don’t know why it hasn’t. I really can’t tell you. I never watched, I didn’t see the leaked one, but I would love to see that whole thing. I would love it to [be released].”
McHale voiced in frustration of finally getting to be in Star Wars and it never airing in a hilarious way.
“Yeah, f—in’ A! I made it into the Star Wars universe and it never aired. What the hell?!”
Only time will tell if the completed episodes ever make their way to Disney+.
