Following the immediate shutdown of Quibi, it looks like creator Nick Santora’s action series Most Dangerous Game is getting a second life at its new home. Roku has officially renewed the Christoph Waltz-led series for a second season, which will now center around a new player. This marks the second Quibi series to have been given a renewal order after Roku acquired the short-lived streamer’s library last January, with the first one being Kevin Hart’s comedy series Die Hart.
Most Dangerous Game Season 2 will feature the return of Waltz and Santora, who will once again serve as a writer and executive producer. Joining Waltz’s game organizer Miles Sellers in the new season is The Umbrella Academy star David Castañeda as he takes on the leading role of Victor Suero, the hunt’s new prey who will succeed Liam Hemsworth’s Dodge Tynes.

Most Dangerous Game is a production by CBS Television Studios. It is created and written by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), with Phil Abraham directing the first season. The series is executive produced by Santora, Gordon Gray, and Silver Reel Pictures.
“When I read the script I couldn’t sleep for a few days,” Castañeda said in a statement (via Deadline). “Thinking of a man given the opportunity of making money to provide for his sister— it reminded me of my family, their struggle and ingenuity in necessity. This story will connect with them and hopefully many more. Also, Christoph Waltz is the man. I can’t wait to jump on this opportunity with Roku and bring the streamers along for a thrilling ride.”
Most Dangerous Game Season 2 will introduce Victor Suero, a down on his luck fighter who springs into action to protect his sister after learning she’s in trouble. He’ll make a fortune if he survives. Out of love for his sister— he’s determined to live.

Most Dangerous Game stars Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, No Time to Die) as Miles, the CEO of The Tiro Fund— a front for a centuries-old game in which hunters pay exorbitant fees for the privilege of hunting the most cunning and dangerous prey there is.
Led by Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games films) in his first major American TV series, the first season centered around a terminally ill man named Dodge who will do anything to provide for his pregnant wife before he dies. In the throws desperation, he accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game, only to discover that he’s not the hunter, but he is the prey.
