Netflix has officially renewed Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s popular coming-of-age teen comedy series Never Have I Ever for a third season. The announcement comes after over a month since the second season had made its debut, which ended with Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s Devi finally having an official high school boyfriend.
“We are so grateful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this story, and to the fans around the world who clamored to see more of this badly behaved Indian teenager,” Kaling and Fisher said in a statement.

Inspired by Kaling’s own childhood, Never Have I Ever is a coming-of-age series that follows the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl. It is led by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations.
The series also stars Poorna Jagannathan as Nalini, Richa Moorjani as Kamala, Ramona Young as Eleanor, Jaren Lewison as Ben, Darren Barnet as Paxton, Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola, and Niecy Nash as Devi’s therapist along with John McEnroe as the narrator.
In Season 2, a new love life, a new classmate, and new reasons to bicker with mom give Devi plenty more ways to make courageous moves… and questionable decisions. The new season also features Oscar-winning rapper-actor Common in the recurring role of Dr. Chris Jackson, and Gigi Hadid, who serves as the narrator to Paxton.
