The Assassin’s Creed Netflix show now has a writer. According to Variety, Die Hard writer Jeb Stuart has been helmed to pen the live-action television take on one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises. However, Netflix and Stuart’s representatives did not confirm or deny his involvement.
Stuart is most known for Die Hard, but also wrote the 1993 film The Fugitive. However, he’s also the creator of Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla, which hasn’t yet aired. Seeing as though Vikings deals with history and is on Netflix, it makes some sense that he would fit the role of writing Netflix’s live-action take for on a series that has become famous for recreating certain time periods (like the above picture showing America during the Revolutionary War). The universally panned 2016 film chose 15th-century Spain as its historical setting. However, the time period for this show has not yet been confirmed.

Netflix and Ubisoft announced the series in October 2020. This is just one part of the collaboration between the two as two Far Cry shows and a Splinter Cell series are also in the works. None of the projects, Assassin’s Creed included, have release windows.
