Professional wrestling legend Dave Bautista has made a name for himself in the entertainment world as of late, thanks to his now fan-favorite role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Although he loves the role, Bautista said he has no plans to take the character to the streaming world.

Speaking in a new interview with JoBlo during a recent set visit to Netflix’s Army of the Dead, Bautista was asked about the possibility of seeing Drax make his way to a Disney+. While he would love to see the world of Guardians of the Galaxy get a TV show, he wouldn’t be part of a Drax TV series.
“I don’t know what they have in mind, and I don’t know what they have planned. I get that they take all their marquee characters, and they gave them shows, so I don’t want to take away from that just ‘cause I’m bitter that nobody from our series… Honestly, if they offered me a series, I wouldn’t do it,” Bautista said. “Not a chance in hell would I do a TV series playing Drax. That is a make-up nightmare. I would be miserable. Yeah, that make-up isn’t fun. It’s awful, so I’m not gonna sign up to do a series where I’m in that make-up every day.”

Bautista has quickly become a fan-favorite character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although he may not want to get in the make-up chair for a television series, it’s unlikely he’s ready to say goodbye to the role of Drax forever. With the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special television special currently in the works, Bautista is still slated to appear in the role for some time.
