Written and executive produced by Sarah Burgess, Impeachment: American Crime Story will center on former US president Bill Clinton’s infamous scandal and impeachment that happened during the 1990s. Simpson: American Crime Story) as Linda Tripp along with Golden Globe nominee Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart) as Monica Lewinsky, Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford (Masters of Sex) and Oscar nominee Clive Owen (Closer) as former U.S president Bill Clinton.
Based on Jeffrey Toobin’s bestselling book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President, the series will unravel the national scandal that swept up Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country’s first impeachment proceedings in over a century. The third installment will be executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander with Paulson, Feldstein, Alexis Martin Woodall, Henrietta Conrad, and Jemima Khan also set as producers. Monica Lewinsky also serves as a producer.
