Fresh off the heels of the announcement that Candice Patton has been cast as Iris West in The CW’s “Arrow” spin-off “The Flash,” Variety now reports that Broadway actor Carlos Valdes has been cast as “mechanical engineering genius” Cisco Ramon. That name might ring some bells to some readers as Cisco Ramon goes on to become the superhero Vibe. It’s unclear if Ramon will retain his super powers in the upcoming series, but after Allen’s transformation in “Arrow” it stands to reason that more super-powered folk will begin popping up.
The remainder of the cast for the upcoming pilot includes Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Jesse L. Martin as Iris’s father Detective West, Rick Gosnett as Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne and Danielle Panabaker as S.T.A.R. Labs bioengineer Caitlin Snow.
“The Flash” arrives from co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg who, along with Geoff Johns, will write the pilot episode with “Arrow” pilot director David Nutter at the helm.
