“Fans of The Muppets can also see more of Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends in the upcoming Disney+ series, Muppets Now, premiering this summer,” stated the official announcement.
Muppets Now will feature celebrity guest stars in the brand-new, unscripted short-form series. There were early rumors that Muppets Now would be comprised of segments like a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show, but nothing has yet been confirmed about the actual content fans can expect to see in the new series.
Muppets Now is being described as an improvised situation comedy based on Jim Henson’s The Muppets franchise with Kirk Thatcher attached to direct.
