Following ABC’s announcement of The Disney Family Singalong last Friday, Deadline brings word that more celebrities will officially be joining the network’s upcoming TV musical event including Disney alums: Demi Lovato (Camp Rock); Raven-Symoné (That’s So Raven); and the casts of Descendants, Zombies, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The Disney Family Singalong will also feature the cast reunion of beloved High School Musical film trilogy consisting of Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel with a special participation of Zac Efron, who joined as a last-minute addition according to HSM director Kenny Ortega.
“We couldn’t reach Zac until late but when we did, he immediately jumped in, of course,” Ortega said in another interview with the outlet. “Everyone we reached out to was quick — and you’ll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes. They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast.
In addition to the former and current Disney stars, Grammy winners Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly, and Alan Menken along with Golden Globe winner Darren Criss, Elle Fanning, Josh Groban, and Marcus Scribner have also been added to the star-studded line-up. James Monroe Iglehart and the Broadway Company of Disney’s Aladdin will also get to reunite for a rendition of “Friend Like Me.”
