Fans looking to revisit the classic days of talk shows can rejoice as Shout Factory TV has announced it will be streaming episodes of the iconic The Johnny Carson Show beginning in April! The announcement trailer can be viewed in the player below!

The streaming service will debut the first collection of episodes from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson followed by grouping entitled The Best of Carnac the Magnificent, The Best of George Carlin and Animal Antics with Joan Embery and Jim Fowler.
The iconic series ran for over 30 years and over 5,000 episodes and is often cited as creating the blueprint for every talk show host on the air today, from Jimmy Fallon to Conan O’Brien to Jimmy Kimmel.
Shout Factory TV is working with Carson Entertainment Group to curate the best episodes across the three decade run and is planning to release the episode collections in themed groups, with other upcoming groupings including Comic Legends of the ‘60s featuring Carl Reiner, Bob Newhart and Mel Brooks, Hollywood Icons of the ‘70s featuring Burt Reynolds, Goldie Hawn and Michael Caine and many more!

Carson’s show was also notably the first talk show to feature up-and-coming stand-up comedians as they had their shot on The Tonight Show to impress the audience and help boost their careers, with Ellen DeGeneres, Louie Anderson, David Letterman and Drew Carey all citing their appearances on the series as crucial for their careers.
“As someone who has been a part of The Tonight Show family for my entire life, it’s incredible to see new generations discover and embrace the show,” Jeff Sotzing, President of Carson Entertainment Group, said. “Now, with the show available on streaming platforms for the first time, the series will be accessible to new audiences and will be curated like never before.
The Johnny Carson Show will be available for streaming on demand beginning April 1 across Shout! Factory TV platforms including ShoutFactoryTV.com, Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Android apps and on various Shout! Factory TV branded channels including Tubi, Amazon Prime Channels and the Roku Channel.
