Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin Cast as Superman and Lois’ Sons on The CW

Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin Cast as Superman and Lois’ Sons

One of the big changes coming out of Crisis on Infinite Earths is that Superman/Clark Kent now have two sons, instead of one. The CW is currently casting lead roles for the upcoming Superman and Lois series, and the first two performers have been picked to portray Superman’s kids.

Via Deadline, Jordan Elsass (top left) and Alexander Garfin (top right) will portray Jonathan and Jordan Kent, respectively. This is a departure from the DC Comics canon, which only features Jonathan Kent as Lois and Clark’s son. In the DC Rebirth era, Jonathan became the new Superboy. Jordan is apparently an invention for the show.

According to the report, “Elsass’ Jonathan is clean-cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated.” In contrast, “Garfin’s Jordan is wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety limits his interactions with people.” It also notes that “Jordan prefers to spend most of his free time alone, playing video games.”

Elsass will appear in Hulu’s upcoming miniseries, Little Fires Everywhere, alongside Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon. Garlin is best known for voicing Linus in The Peanuts Movie, in addition to his appearance in Law & Order: SVU.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will reprise their respective roles as Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The CW has already ordered Superman and Lois straight-to-series, and it may premiere as soon as this fall.
