Regardless of how you feel about the final season of Game of Thrones as one of the greatest television shows of all time. Many fans embraced the series because of its unique standing as a full-fledged fantasy. Based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, GoT was as ambitious as a feature film. Its scope and scale were unlike anything else on television.
Now that it’s over, people are craving more danger, dragons and dense theories. Fortunately, there are a handful of television shows similar to GoT in the works (or coming soon). Here’s a look at some of the most notable.

That Dark Tower will not be related to the 2017 movie...the Amazon series will explore Roland’s back story—inspired by Stephen King’s eight-book fantasy series.
