Fox has a big winner on its hands. After its huge debut made it the network’s most successful fall drama premiere since “24” in 2001, “Sleepy Hollow” scored a second season.
While going head-to-head (no pun intended) with a Redcoat during the Revolutionary War, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) lops off his enemy’s head, but suffers a vicious wound himself. When he comes to, he’s no longer in 1783; he’s in present day Sleepy Hollow, and so is his now headless adversary. Meanwhile, a young cop named Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) is preparing to leave town and begin FBI training in Quantico. However, after a close call with the Headless Horseman’s axe, Abbie opts to sideline her plans, team up with Ichabod, and do whatever it takes to put an end to this cycle of evil.
Prior to a meet-and-greet with its newly amassed fan base during a panel at New York Comic Con, Mison, Beharie, Orlando Jones (Captain Frank Irving), Katia Winter (Katrina Crane), co-creator and executive producer Alex Kurtzman, and director, co-creator and executive producer Len Wiseman sat down for a series of roundtable interviews. In addition to addressing their intentions for the show and the challenge of grounding the supernatural subject matter, the gang teased loads of exciting new elements to come as the season progresses.
Check out the highlights from the interview below to hear all about the new creatures, backstories, and world building on the way. “Sleepy Hollow” airs Mondays on Fox at 9/8c.
