According to Deadline, Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) has been tapped to portray the role of Miles Sellers in Quibi’s upcoming untitled action thriller series. Waltz will be joining previously announced cast member Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games trilogy), who is set for the lead role of Dodge Maynard.

Created by writer Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break) and CBS Television Studios, the untitled series will follow the story of a terminally ill man named Dodge Maynard who will do anything to provide for his pregnant wife before he dies. In the throws desperation, he accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game, only to discover that he’s not the hunter, but he is the prey.
Santora will also serve as executive producer for the project, along with director Phil Abraham (Mad Men, Daredevil), Gordon Gray and Silver Reel Pictures.

Quibi, which is short for “Quick Bites” is scheduled to have its launch on April 6, 2020, with already more than a billion dollars raised from its investors. It has a number of projects currently in development. Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, Laurence Fishburne, and Don Cheadle are eight of the many producers and talents who are working hard on the production of the said projects
