In a recent interview with Time, award-winning creator Ryan Murphy revealed the five new projects that he is currently developing for Netflix as part of his massive multi-year deal with the streaming service. One of the five projects that have been confirmed is an upcoming biopic limited series which centers on the life of legendary fashion designer Halston with Golden Globe winner Ewan McGregor (Fargo) attached to star.
McGregor will next be seen in the highly-anticipated The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep and is also set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars spin-off series.

Murphy has also announced that he is producing another miniseries that will be based on the classic Broadway musical A Chorus Line which had won nine Tony Awards in 1976. The series adaptation will be made up of 10 episodes. Murphy also revealed that he and two-time Emmy winner Jessica Lange are working together on yet another new project which tells the story of Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich.

In addition to the three new series, Murphy has confirmed that he developing two documentary series about pop art icon Andy Warhol and the second one titled A Secret Love which follows a real-life closeted lesbian couple who came out in the 80s.

Last year, Murphy has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce new original content exclusively for the streaming service. The five new projects will be added to the slate of Murphy’s ongoing projects which includes: the dark comedy series The Politician; Ratched, a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest starring Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story) as a younger version of the cruel Nurse Ratched; and the film adaptation of hit Broadway musical The Prom featuring a star-studded cast led by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman.
