TV Line has brought word that the upcoming second season of the fan-favorite ABC drama A Million Little Things has expanded its cast with the addition of Kevin (Probably) Saves the World star Jason Ritter in a multi-episode story arc.

Ritter has signed on to star as a currently-unnamed character with ties to Maggie’s mother, Patricia (Melora Hardin, The Office), but once he arrives he threatens to upend Maggie’s life. In addition to leading the short-lived Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, Ritter is also known for his work on the small screen with Comedy Central’s Another Period and NBC’s The Event and Parenthood.
A Million Little Things is a series set in Boston which follows a group of friends who bonded under unexpected circumstances. Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. After one of them dies unexpectedly, it’s just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way they discover that friends may be the one thing to save them from themselves.

DJ Nash is creator and executive producer; Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, and James Griffiths are executive producers. A Million Little Things is produced by ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment, and the second season will premiere on ABC Thursday, September 26 at 9 p.m. PST.
