After last year’s exhilarating multi-story crossover in Apocalypse, fans have been anxiously waiting for the next installment in FX’s hit horror anthology series American Horror Story, and the cable network has revealed that the new season will premiere on September 18 (via Variety)!

It remains to be seen who will be part of the new season of the series but actor Evan Peters has already confirmed he will not return for the new season, marking the first time in the show’s history he won’t appear. Murphy has confirmed that Emma Roberts will return and star alongside Olympic gold medalist Gus Kenworthy. Cult and Apocalypse vet Billy Eichner (The Lion King) also revealed in May that we would not return for the upcoming ninth season.
Most of the regular American Horror Story cast members returned for the show’s eighth season, including Peters, along with Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks; as well as franchise newcomers Joan Collins and Cody Fern.

The Twentieth Century Fox Television production was renewed for two more seasons back in the fall of 2018, carrying it through to season 10.
The ninth season of American Horror Story, entitled 1984, is set to premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 18 at 10 p.m. EST!
