It has been three months since Hollywood was shaken by the unexpected death of actor Luke Perry, who died at age 52 from complications of a stroke in early March. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter to reveal that the upcoming fourth season premiere episode of the hit teen drama will be a special tribute to the late actor, who portrayed the role of Archie Andrews’ father, Fred Andrews, since the show’s first season. To be directed by Gabriel Correa, episode 4.01 titled “In Memoriam” is scheduled to air on October 9.
Probably the most important episode of #Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke & Fred. pic.twitter.com/MH7xOjNyDu
