The upcoming fifth season will chronicle the aftermath of the season finale’s horrific events and find the characters coming to terms with the consequences of their choices.
The Affair stars Golden Globe nominee Dominic West (Colette), Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson (Luther), Emmy Award nominee, and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy) and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Joshua Jackson (Fringe). Guest stars include Sanaa Lathan, Ramon Rodriguez, Russell Hornsby, Christopher Meyer, Amy Irving, and Phoebe Tonkin.
The series explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together. Season four finds Noah (West), Helen (Tierney), Alison (Wilson) and Cole (Jackson) in their own orbits, alienated from each other, spinning further and further away from where they all began. Every character is involved in a new relationship, forcing them even to decide if they’re ready and willing to leave the past behind for good – with a season about new beginnings, tragic ends and the ever-elusive possibility of forgiveness.

The fifth season of The Affair is set to debut on Sunday, August 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
