Pedro Pascal has officially joined the cast of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” EW reports that he’ll play Prince Oberyn Martell in the upcoming fourth season.
Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, “Game of Thrones” is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal.
A member of the House Martell, Oberyn is nicknamed “The Red Viper of Dorne” and is said to begin the fourth season seeking revenge in Kings Landing for the murder of his sister, Elia, who died at the hands of Lannister knight Gregor Clegane (played by Conan Stevens and Ian Whyte in the first and second seasons, respectively.)
