In the wake of Luke Perry’s death from a stroke at the age of 52, celebrities across social media posted their memories of the actor. While he was best known as bad boy Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210, he had an accomplished career as an actor, and seemed to make a positive impression on people that he met.
Those who worked with him on Riverdale, where he played Archie’s father, Fred Andrews, were some of the first to share their heartfelt reactions.

Luke Perry. What a kind, talented, generous man. I was so, so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a wholly wonderful person. All of my thoughts and love are with him and his family.

Those who’d worked with him in other projects over the years, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Criminal Minds, Saturday Night Live, and of course 90210, also weighed in.
Dearest Luke,
I will forever bask in the loving memories we've shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here, for those you leave behind.— Ian Ziering (@IanZiering) March 4, 2019

The first time I met Luke Perry we talked about what kind of movie we wanted “Buffy” to be. I asked if he’d ever seen “Near Dark” and he gave me a look of HOW DARE YOU SIR and I knew we’d get along. Funny, committed, and always gracious. He shouldn’t be gone.

RIP #lukeperry. He hosted @nbcsnl during my first season as a writer and I ended up being in this #starwars-themed monologue with him and the late-great #philhartman. https://t.co/p5eCEE8r9g

Luke Perry was such a wonderful and kind man. I was afraid he'd be "actorly". I was so wrong. HE choreographed our fight scenes and was a joy to be around. My prayers go out to his family. pic.twitter.com/XLwqjwKR92

Leonardo DiCaprio, who will share the screen with Perry in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, also posted a moving tribute to his late co-star.
Luke Perry was a kindhearted and incredibly talented artist. It was an honor to be able to work with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his loved ones.

Even those who never got a chance to formally work with him shared their own anecdotes, speaking of a man who was always gracious, courteous, and humble — regardless of what their status was in Hollywood at the time.
Luke Perry used to come into the restaurant I worked in over a decade ago and he was always so kind to me and friendly in an industry where most people would just dismiss me. Always remembered that. RIP. And be kind and compassionate to those around you y’all.
